Echo Go+ Hydrogen Water Bottle – Expert Review

Smaller electrode surface area compared to others and potentially can hide and accumulate mold and bacteria behind the 3-star plastic over the electrode.

Echo Go+ is a private label product manufactured by the Ehm Group Ltd. – China for Echo Technologies LLC.
It was recently popularized by the health influencer Gary Brecka.
In this review we will dive deep into the product, the technology and the customer support.

The Design:

This bottle suffers from a frustrating design flaw: aligning the bottle with the main body is unnecessarily difficult.
As the gasket naturally flattens with use, the misalignment will likely worsen, and over-tightening can further exacerbate the issue.
The body is made of aluminum and polycarbonate plastic.
It’s a sturdy construction and feels solid in your hands. It might look a bit cheap, especially when you have paid $250 for it.

The Technology:

Echo Go+ features a 6th generation technology:
Double chamber with an exhaust vent at the bottom.
The Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) is unfortunately from China.
Pressure design and platinum plated electrode (The Anode is from stainless steel).
The electrodes and the active area are smaller compared to similar devices.

The electrolytic cell is reinforced for pressure and with solid construction.

to save money, the Anode is made from Stainless steel which can be problematic in a long term use.

NSF Certificate

NSF is a certificate used for water filtration systems and it makes no sense to have it on a hydrogen water bottle.
As expected, when we asked for the NSF certificate, the company was unable to provide it.

Maintenance:

The water container and the cap are difficult to clean. The logo can potentially accumulate dirt and mold and we can’t easily find the max water line.
Same with the star design over the membrane. It’s impossible to clean under that star.

Customer Support:
This could be temporary but the customer support is pretty much non-existent.
After a very long time waiting for the order to be shipped (over 3 weeks), it takes a few more weeks to get answers to your questions.

Warranty
We wondered how will the 5 year warranty play when the membrane life is typically 1-2 years. Is it just a marketing trick? Yes, it is. If you read the fine print you will see that Echo Water doesn’t guarantee the battery and the charging cable.

Free returns
Another trick up their sleeve is that you have to pay $4.95 or the return fee will be your responsibility.

Conclusion:
Overall, the Echo Go+ is not special or impressive; it falls short in many areas such as ease of cleaning, design, and the electrodes. The packaging and unboxing experience is so poor that one would feel embarrassed to present it as a gift.

We were expecting more, but understand that Gary Brecka is a biologist, not an expert on hydrogen water generators.
It appears that he simply didn’t choose the right product to promote.
The price is overly inflated, offering nothing more compared to other devices in its class. The battery is not covered by the warranty.
We have reviewed far better options and will continue our search for the best hydrogen water bottle on the market.
